Why is my account locked and how do I open it back?

To help keep your account secure, the system automatically locks your account after several unsuccessful login attempts. This security measure is designed to protect your account from unauthorized access.

Your account may be locked if:

  • You entered an incorrect password multiple times.

  • You entered an incorrect two-factor authentication (2FA) code multiple times.

  • There were several login attempts using incorrect login credentials.

How do I unlock my account?

Once your account has been locked, an email will automatically be sent to the email address associated with your account.

The email will contain an "Unlock Account" link that allows you to restore access to your account and log in again.

Please note: For security reasons, the unlock link is valid for 2 hours only.

Didn't receive the email?

If you can't find the account unlock email:

  • Check your Spam/Junk or Promotions folder.

  • Make sure you're checking the inbox of the email address associated with your Bits of Gold account.

  • Wait a few minutes and refresh your inbox.

Has the unlock link expired?

If more than 2 hours have passed since you received the email, the unlock link will expire for security reasons.

If this happens, or if you're still unable to unlock your account, please contact us and we'll be happy to assist.

Did you receive an account lock notification even though you didn't try to log in?

If you received a notification that your account was locked even though you didn't attempt to log in, it's possible that someone tried to access your account.

In this case, we recommend that you:

  • Do not share the unlock link with anyone.

  • Unlock your account only using the link sent directly to your email.

  • Change your password after logging in if you believe your login credentials may have been compromised.

  • If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled on your account, make sure it is still properly configured on your device.

If you suspect any unauthorized activity on your account, please contact us as soon as possible so we can investigate the issue.
